COURSE CONTENT

Day 1-4: 
SKILLS DEVELOPMENT THROUGH 
PLAY ACTIONS

 

·        Play actions that develop skills

·        How to play with various toys, activities and games

·        Introduction to levels of difficulty / ages when playing with toys

·    Management and facilitation of play materials and activities

Day 5: 
TOY LIBRARY ADMINISTRATION
 

              ·        Toy libraries - aims and models for different needs

              ·        Planning checklist

              ·        Preparation & Cataloguing of toys

              ·        Administrative record keeping

              ·        Managing toys - maintaining, cleaning of toys and stocktaking


 

TARGET GROUPS:


Toy libraries, parents, early childhood development practitioners, nursery school teachers, foundation phase teachers, community librarians, caregivers, volunteers and anyone else interested in working with young children
