Training courses

 

Anyone wishing to run a toy library needs to attend both the 

Skills development through Play Actions and Toy Library Administration courses.

            ·    Introduction to Observation, Scanning and Mediation Using Play Actions.

You can only register for this course if you have attended the Skills Development through Play Actions course. This course is under development.

             ·    Training on play materials that support Grade R curriculum, for teachers.

     Offered as an add on to the Skills Development course, on request.

Training workshops

 

            ·    Making toys from scrap materials. Click Here to download forms.

            ·    Stimulating children through play, for parents. This workshop is under development.

    It will be offered from 2012.

 

Qualifications for training

Anyone interested in working with children may do the courses. ALL-SA’s basic training targets early childhood development practitioners, parents, toy librarians, nursery school teachers, pre-school teachers, crèche workers, foundation phase teachers, public librarians and caregivers. ALL-SA has trained people with all levels of education from school leavers to university graduates.

 

Language

Courses are mainly conducted in English. All notes are in English. Questions can be answered in isiZulu, Sesotho and isiXhosa. If all the participants in the group speak an African language, the training can be conducted in one of the languages previously mentioned.  

 

Certificate of attendance

Participants receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Training in other parts of SA

  • ALL-SA trainers travel to any location in South Africa if there is a group of 25 or more people that need training. The cost of training is calculated according to costs to ALL-SA (travel, accommodation, etc.)
  • Training courses have been held in Limpopo, KZN, Western Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West and Northern Cape.
