PLANNING A TOY LIBRARY
Are
you thinking of starting a Toy Library ?
Have a look at the following resources to help you in the planning
process.
A Toy Library can be a valuable community resource if it's planned and
managed well.
In our experience, a Toy Library needs at least one full-time, paid Toy
Librarian to manage the administration and repair of toys.
In
the start-up phase, a number of hours will need to be allocated to
categorising, marking & protecting the toys - volunteers or
support
staff will help speed up this process.
We recommend that at least 2 persons involved with the project or
Organisation attend ALL-SA's 5-day Skills Development through
Play Actions and Toy Management Training Course before planning or
buying toys for the project.
Start the
Toy Library with it's objectives firmly in place - make your impact
instant and long-lasting!
ALL-SA
would also love to hear about your Toy Library
- send us some details about your project and the community you serve.
This helps us to provide accurate statistics about
the
status and services of Toy Libraries in South Africa and share useful
information & resources with you. Send the details to ALL-SA's
Head Office.
