Aims of the Conference

To enhance the skills & knowledge of participants by providing practical information and training

on topics relevant to toy libraries, play materials and play


Who Should Attend Header

Toy Librarians, Community Librarians, Educators, ECD Practitioners, Therapists,

Organisations, Individuals, Government Departments, CSI Managers and Donors

  • The value of Toy Libraries
  • Starting & running a Toy Library
  • How to run a workshop on "The Value of Play Materials" or "The Importance of Stimulating a Child"
  • Panel discussion on play materials for children with special needs
  • Play for traumatised children
  • Managing aggressive play
  • Making improvised toys from scrap materials
  • Facilitating play for different age groups
  • Encouraging development using toys at different levels of difficulty
  • Using play materials to support the National Curriculum and Grade R
  • Discussion Group:
How can Toy Libraries reach / support the 80 % of young children not benefitting from pre-school programmes
  • Repairing of different types of play materials


Biennial General Meeting Header

As guided by the ALL-SA Constitution, the BGM for current Members will include a review of ALL-SA's work over the past 2 years, a presentation of the Financial Report and the election of new Office Bearers for the coming term.  
If you would like to update your membership, download the Membership Application / Renewal form

There is also a proposed change to the ALL-SA Constitution.  A draft will be distributed to current Members before the BGM, for approval at the meeting.

Regional Meetings will be held prior to the BGM.
